Concept

Canyon VR is an audio-reactive architecture and landscape experience in virtual reality. The viewer will be seated at the center of Piper Auditorium at Harvard Graduate School of Design and will enter the virtual version of the auditorium through the display of a VR headset. As the beats of the music breathe life into the familiar space, the room transforms into Sound Canyon formed and colored by the audio track. By sharing the existing place in the real and virtual worlds, Canyon VR aims to blur the boundary between the real and virtual and give the continuous sense of presence in the space. It takes the viewer into another world with music and presents an audio-reactive space that can be experienced only in the virtual world.
